Lisa and Alex

We can’t say enough about this maternity session in Richmond!  First, these two looked like they belonged in a fairy tale.  Lisa is Rapunzel and Alex as Prince Eric – yes I’m mixing stories, but I think it’s allowed.  Second, they chose an absolutely amazing location. Thank you to Historic Tuckahoe Plantation for being so swoonworthy. (And having great communication and promptness in replying to our questions) . 

But let’s back it up just a bit.  If Lisa looks a bit familiar, that’s because she is Katie’s sister. Katie referred Lisa to us to shoot her sister’s maternity session after we shot their new baby/family photo session. And we are so glad she did!  

Driving up to the location was a dream in itself. The plantation had a half mile long tree-lined gravel road which set the scene perfectly.  I (Jacki) scared Ryan by slamming on the brakes at the flock of sheep relaxing in their field.

That evening we were fighting high heat and humidity, and racing a looming thunderstorm. But Lisa and Alex trusted us with every pose the session wrapped up quickly enough to have two outfits and still beat the storm!  

While we were walking and shooting around the grounds, they pointed out where they got married, (seriously, how romantic?). Unfortunately they had a storm on their wedding day and had to move the location from the garden to another spot on the lawn.  So we knew we had to get pictures in their original wedding location for them. And I literally cannot stop looking at the pictures from that space because they are just so romantic.  

And in every photo we took, the loving way they looked at one another was so genuine. If we could redo this session five thousand more times we would. Lisa and Alex are going to make amazing parents. We hope they have as much joy showing their little one these pictures as we had taking them.
