We knew our maternity session at Lake Anna was going to be a cold one, it was in the middle of winter, but we were not prepared for what the weather that day brought. What made it worse, was the fact that the day before was beautiful and slightly warm (for January). You couldn’t tell from the gorgeous momma-to-be but it was about 20 degrees F with a wind chill of even less. Ryan and I wore layers and I had fleece lined jeans (thank you LL Bean!) and we were able to capture this amazing couple at the lake, and give her images of her perfect bump for years to come.
She wanted a beachy, lake theme with her white dress and cowboy hat. She rocked it all perfectly, I am jealous of women who can wear any hat and look perfect. We started the shoot with her jacket on but she ended up taking that off and laying with a cute scarf. If you look at the pictures without any knowledge of the weather, you would never know that she was freezing cold, she didn’t even have a red nose! Meanwhile, I couldn’t tell when my finger was on the shutter button. Either she is incredibly strong or I am very much a baby when it comes to cold. It could be both!
But the sun setting over the hills onto the trees on the other side of the lake gave such a perfect glow and finish to the session.
These two made the cold weather totally worth it and we can’t wait to meet baby!
